Schizophrenia, Bipolar, Multiple personality disorders - do we just cope or can it be cured?

I have had counseling and medical treatment, why am I really no better?

Where I have gained "control" with medications, I have also lost some of who I am

In my struggle and hopelessness why does my mind drift to suicide, alcohol, drugs, just wanting to escape

2Mark 9:17-27, "Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that has robbed him of speech.  Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid. "How long has he been like this?" "From childhood said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes." Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!"

Luke 8:27-39 ...came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid ...Return to your own house, and show how great things God hath done unto thee.

2 Tim 1:7  For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Luke 8:2  and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out;

Mark 6:12-13  They went out and preached that people should repent. They drove out many demons and anointed many sick people with oil and healed them.

Luke 10:17-20  The seventy-two returned with joy and said, "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name."  I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.  However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."

Matt 11:28-30  "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest

There are many who sit confined in our psych wards of our hospitals or go through life day after day robbed of much of what we call life.  Week after week they receive good care, counsel and medications but nothing changes.

My heart goes out to these people and their families who miss them very much.  Can there be something more done?  I believe in some cases there can.  Some of this is way more than just physiological, the balancing of chemicals in our body.  There is a possibility that schizophrenia, multiple personality disorders, bipolar, suicidal tendencies may in some cases have serious spiritual sources that regular counseling will never touch.

This is an area that may seem hard to believe.  When Jesus walked the earth he healed many illnesses but he also worked with people often recorded in the Bible with possessing spirits.  These spirits brought on deafness, inability to speak, convulsions, seizures, epilepsy, violence, great physical power (to break chains), multiple spirits or persons, multiple voices, ability to predict the future (and do miraculous signs).  Once Jesus removed these spirits the conditions were gone.  People were fully restored in mind and returned to their families, whole, for regular life.

Since Jesus time did all these evil spirits just pack up and leave?  No.  Society denies such possibilities and may have just relabeled their destroying work to feel better and not have anything to do with God.  Jesus said his followers, evangelical Christians, could remove these spirits just as Jesus did in his day.

Many pastors are not familiar with this or just do not get involved.  If Christian pastors do not address this, no one else will or can, leaving many in bondage, with destroyed lives.  Not all conditions involve spiritual possession or oppression, but those that do need only what Jesus Christ can do.  This freedom is possible today if people would only believe.  This does not require weeks and months of treatments but possibly a few hours with God's power."
