Economic Instability

When or where will this roller coaster end?
I thought I had it all set for life, secure.
After so many years, what do they mean I am not needed?
Where will I start again?
How will I pay my bills and my outstanding debts?
How will I provide for my family who is counting on me?

2 Phil 4:5-7 The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Matt 6:31-34 So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Rom 8:31-32 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all-how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

Mark 8:36-37 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

1 Cor 10:12-13 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall!

Heb 13:5-6 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"

Matt11:28-30 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

We have very intelligent advisers in the world with great experience, yet even the best have missed seeing everything that has happened.

Almost everyone has been touched directly or indirectly by financial turmoil changing the world. Even now some believe there is more to come. How can we prepare for what we do not see?

We often believe our money is security and long term or high positions are safe. Though we often feel very strong, very little in our life and world are really in our control. With markets at best we speculate. Our next heart beat, breath or brain wave is automatic and not in our control. For much of our life we place faith and trust in people and systems. Systems that are run by man and therefore fallible. Situations influenced by the greed of man, lifting themselves up while taking others down. On our own we are very vulnerable with a world increasing with insincerity and deceit.

What if there is one who could assure us of our basic provisions for life, while protecting us and controlling how far situations could impact us. Worry or fear would be calmed, giving us a freedom to enjoy what we do have. Contentment with joy and peace is possible with Jesus Christ. God has said to those who follow Him, He will never leave us or forsake us in life. Why go it alone or put your family at further risk?
