Accidents & Loss

This changes everything, how do I go on?
How do I cope with losses?
It should have been me.
More questions than answers, especially – why, why happen, why now, why me?
Who do I go to for wisdom, or answers?

1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

2 Cor 12:9-10 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Gal 6:7-10 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.  The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction.

James 1:2-6   Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds,  because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

Accidents and injury are never welcome but they come to all of us without warning. Some are small and are more of a nuisance, where others change our lives forever. Some are the result of our own choices bringing regret. Others are the result of actions of others, sometimes careless conduct. How do we forgive ourselves or others?  How do we face life with less than what we had the day before?  Sometimes we are  left alone to cope, and we struggle.

We need someone who can be with us, who truly cares, and who has the ability to really make a difference in our situation. Jesus Christ never intended for us to face life alone. The fact that He died on the cross for our failures shows his love for us.  His Words tell us that if we get close to Him, He will stay close to us 24/7.

He promises to give us strength to go through our challenges with Him.  This has been lived out through the lives of many, proving God is faithful. The challenge is how do we connect with God?  We reach Him through His Son Jesus Christ and no other way.  Without Jesus who are we to approach the holy all powerful creator God. Yet to Him you are special and He invites you to come.

Jesus Christ can give you wisdom to understand.  He can take calamity and bring good from it.  He can give you the strength to endure or even may choose to change you very circumstances. You will need to trust Him, not just with the situation, but with your whole life.
