I thought they loved me, why did they do this to me?
 Who will protect me?
Does God not care?  Why did He not step in and prevent?
For years I have kept silent, but I can’t any longer, how do I deal with this?
How can I deal with this and find closure?
 How can I go on?
 What did I do wrong?

Ps 55 Listen to my prayer, O God, do not ignore my plea; …My thoughts trouble me and I am distraught  at the voice of the enemy, at the stares of the wicked; for they bring down suffering upon me and revile me in their anger...  "Oh, that I had the wings of a dove!  I would fly away and be at rest … But I call to God, and the LORD saves me.  Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice. He ransoms me unharmed from the battle waged against me,   But you, O God, will bring down the wicked into the pit of corruption; bloodthirsty and deceitful men will not live out half their days. But as for me, I trust in you.

Ps 34:4-7 I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.  This poor man called, and the LORD heard him;  he saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.

Tim 1:7 For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, of love and a sound mind.

Isa 26:3-4 You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.  Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, is the Rock eternal.

I Cor 6:9-10 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

Matt 11:28   "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

There are way too many people young and old living in an emotional bondage from the evil acts of someone else, even those close to us, who should have been able to be trusted.  There are mental, emotional even physical scars to deal with.  They can be so intense that it feels like they will never leave. Some try to escape by denial or they try to bury their pain through substances which only add further bondage and pain.  No one should be able to enslave another person for life.  There can be freedom. There can be healing.  Joy can come with each morning.

How do we find closure for all of this?  Counsel and time can heal some but there is a deeper healing needed for your very soul.  This is a place that only God can touch.  Be encouraged He wants to meet you there and lift you from your turmoil completely.  Without Him there will be only partial recovery.  You need someone to connect you personally with God through Jesus Christ and to the counsel of His Words found in the Bible.

The wrongs you have suffered need to be acknowledged for what they are and people held accountable.

It is not uncommon for people who are victims to feel what happened were their fault for some reason.  What needs to be acknowledged is that what happened was from the sin and deliberate wrong acts of someone else. They are accountable before God and to the laws of the land.  Speaking up is the right thing, otherwise sin is allowed to continue hurting more people.  The person who brings wrong into the light is not the problem or wrong for doing this.

Then you need healing for the deep scars, this healing is found in the love of Jesus Christ. He can help you to find closure for the past while deliberately setting a new focus on a new tomorrow.  There is a way to keep from allowing people and experiences of the past from imprisoning.  It will take more than what you can do on your own, but with God it is possible.  With some time you will be able to trust other people and find freedom and joy.
